Lublin

Lublin, called the capital of Eastern Poland, is the largest and most rapidly developing city on the right side of the Vistula River. As the capital of the province, it serves as the administrative, economic and cultural center of the region. Lublin's rich, seven-century-long history and its location in a multicultural centre create its special qualities. This unusual place attracts with its unique atmosphere, rich architecture and numerous monuments.

Lublin is a city immersed in the awareness of history, which inspires the future. Renowned international artistic events, theaters, music and contemporary art festivals take place here. The high level of the cultural offer is also provided by theaters, galleries and student clubs operating in the city. Concerts, performances, happenings, festivals and exhibitions enliven the streets of Lublin. Among the most famous cultural events, one can mention the Carnaval Sztuk-Mistrzów, the Different Sounds Festival, the Night of Culture, the Jagiellonian Fair, the "Neighbours" Central European Theatre Festival, the "Theatre Confrontations" Festival, and the European Festival of Taste.

Lublin is one of the cities with the highest investment dynamics. The opening of Lublin Airport, the construction of the ring road with access roads, or the modernization of the municipal public transport system significantly contribute to the development of infrastructure and the creation of friendly conditions for investment, which makes Lublin strengthen its position on the map of Poland and Europe.

Lublin is one of the most important and most dynamic academic centers in Poland. It encourages education with its wide range of faculties, excellent academic staff and activities to support students, e.g. through scholarships and awards. Over 70,000 people, not only from Poland, study at    renowned public universities and prestigious non-public higher education institutions.

Lublin is a gate to the East, a showcase for Poland in contacts with the countries of the Eastern Partnership. This is due not only to its geopolitical location, but also to the historical heritage of the city. The integrating Europe has moved its borders far to the East, restoring to Lublin its natural role as a link between East and West. Lublin is an unquestionable leader in Poland in co-operation with its eastern partners. It concerns both official contacts on the level of authorities and offices as well as direct relations of many institutions, companies and non-governmental organizations. The conducted activities are related to various areas of life, such as: initiatives for the development of civil society, city management, projects in the field of culture and science.
